Palin position on Abortion
|
• In August 2008 she strongly opposed the embryonic stem cell research. She said, "My personal opinion is we should not create human life, create an embryo and then destroy it for research, if there are options out there."
• She once wrote, "I believe that no matter what mistakes we make as a society, we cannot condone ending an innocent's life."
• Sarah Palin was opposed to abortion whatever the case, except if the life of the mother was at stake. When talking of rape victims she said "I would counsel to choose life, and persuade them to choose life for their babies."
• She was of the opinion that Roe v. Wade should definitely be reversed and the decision should be given to the respective states.
• In reply to one of the questions from Kate Couric of CBS news, she stated "I am pro-life and I am unapologetic in my position that I am pro-life."
• When asked by Couric what the governor thought about the morning after pill she is stated to have said, "I am all for contraception. And I am all for preventive measures that are legal and safe and should be taken, but I am one to believe that life starts at the moment of conception. And I would like to see fewer and fewer abortions in this world."
• Sarah Palin was strongly against sex education programs that do not embrace abstinence, and said that she does not agree to the distribution of contraceptives in schools using the dollars paid by taxpayers.
