Palin position on Business and Labor

• Sarah Palin is a firm believer in free market capitalization saying this gives an opportunity for all parties to compete.

• She believes that workforce fundamentals are strong and economy needs oversight.

• She supports reduction of business taxes and encouraging small business growth. She criticized Obama on this issue saying that small businesses would be affected in his decision to tax people with incomes of $250,000 a year or more thus lowering productivity and job opportunities.

• She advocated that Unions should get member permissions before using dues for political donations on grounds that unions are responsible for workers and also accountable to them.

• She believed in the creation of jobs in all sectors and praised the Red Dog Zinc Mine for their efforts on this issue.

• She supported a voc-tech curriculum in educational institutions to leverage job training dollars for workforce development.

• While Governor of Alaska she brought in tax cuts and infrastructural improvements, encouraging new businesses and thereby drawing more shoppers and increasing business revenue.

• She abolished business inventory taxes during her term in the governor's office.

• Sarah Palin in association with the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development started the Alaska Construction Academy which trained adults and students in various skills like carpentry, plumbing, electrical welding etc.

• She was a firm supporter for Equal Pay for Equal Work and said no way would she stand for women getting lesser pay compared to men.
