this would lead to the growth of competition in the sector which in turn would help to control
prices of prescription drugs.

proposed a tax credit for families so as to enable them to buy a suitable insurance plan of their
choice which would cover all the related bills.
• Having let the prescription drug database law take effect in her state without her
signature, Sarah Palin has expressed doubts with regards to the privacy of the program. Although she
expressed support for the program, she claimed to have heard concerns voiced by healthcare providers
that care may be denied by patients due to the privacy factor.
• Sarah Palin has been one of the front-line supporters for the prescription drug monitoring
program which requires the pharmacies to register the prescriptions mentioning abuse-prone drugs.
• Sarah Palin is of the opinion that there should be more competition in this sector as it
would not only lead to more choices but would also make medicines more affordable to common people.
This would not only make the sector business driven but would also leave less room for litigation.
• Being a firm believer in nature, Sarah Palin is against the use of medicines in general as
she holds the opinion that it is the individual who is responsible for his health and therefore
everyone should take personal responsibility for their health by making responsible and healthy
choices, thereby eliminating the need for pills.
